Why I Started Practice Togetherly
I didn’t start Practice Togetherly because I had extra time for wellness. I started it because I didn’t.

I didn’t start Practice Togetherly because I had extra time for wellness.
I started it because I didn’t.
I’m a full-time working mom and former yoga teacher who spent the last several years working as a Software Engineer. Most days my life looked something like this: wake up around 6:30 when my son gets up, balance parenting and work all day, make sure I’m out the door by 5 so we can cook and eat dinner together as a family, finish bedtime around 8 p.m, and then sometimes log back on to work afterward.
I genuinely loved my career. I loved solving hard technical problems, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the future of large-scale software systems.
But even with a career I enjoyed and a life I was grateful for, there was one thing I consistently struggled with:
Taking care of myself.
Like so many other people, I wanted wellness to be part of my life. I wanted yoga. Movement. Meditation. Time to reset and reconnect with myself. But my reality rarely matched my intention.
Making time for a studio or gym class once-per-week already felt like a monumental effort, but I was continuously told that it wasn't enough to make a difference. And I lacked the motivation and know-how to really commit to at-home routines.
And I kept thinking the same thing:
Why is this so hard?
Then last fall, I had an experience that unexpectedly changed the direction of my life.
I discovered Grow Therapy while looking for a therapist. I had wanted to start therapy for a long time, but it always felt impossible to fit into my schedule. Even once I committed to making the time, the process itself became overwhelming — searching through provider directories, calling offices, waiting for callbacks that often never came.
Then suddenly, through one platform, I could filter by exactly what I needed: virtual appointments, availability after 8 p.m, someone who fit my preferences. Within minutes, I found care that actually worked for my real life.
It felt magical.
Not because therapy itself was new, but because all of the barriers around accessing it had been removed.
And I remember thinking:
Why isn’t all wellness this easy?
That question became the seed for Practice Togetherly.
At first, my vision was centered mostly around people like me: busy parents, working professionals, and people whose schedules or circumstances made traditional wellness models difficult to sustain.
I wanted to make it easier to access personalized wellness experiences — yoga, meditation, personal training, sound baths, stretching, and more — in a way that actually fits into modern life.
But something unexpected happened as I started building. I began meeting instructors, people who were deeply passionate about helping others feel better in their bodies and minds. And I was blown away by them.
So many of these instructors are incredibly talented, empathetic, and knowledgeable. Many are building independent businesses completely on their own — piecing together schedules, marketing themselves on social media, renting spaces, managing cancellations, and trying to reach new clients without much support.
The more people I met, the more I realized this wasn’t just about helping clients, it was also about helping the people who make wellness possible.
Practice Togetherly exists to support both sides. For clients, we want wellness to feel approachable, flexible, personalized, and easy to access. For instructors, we want to create more opportunities to share their work, build meaningful relationships with students, and grow sustainable businesses on their own terms.
Because wellness shouldn’t feel like a logistical challenge.
